Jeff Teta is a coach and personal trainer with over 15 years of experience, who specializes in speed and power events. Jeff was an Iona College graduate, and holds a USATF Level 2 certification for Sprints and Hurdles. He is also a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, NSCA, and has undergone the coach’s apprenticeship program at ALTIS in Arizona.
Jeff was the assistant cross-country coach at Riverdale Country Day School, prior to that he spent 4 years as the head coach of Track and Field for Stuyvesant High School. At Stuyvesant he has won a combined 8 Manhattan Borough Championships for both indoor and outdoor. He has many athletes competing in the collegiate level such as Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, Emory, Williams, LIU and Amherst.
Jeff Teta believes that a successful athlete is a well-rounded and educated one. Open lines of communication between athlete and coach is important to develop an understanding of task but also helps when discussing individual goals and key performance indicators/inhibitors, KPIs. He believes that anyone can create the possibilities if they’re willing to work.
